Exquisite New Lighting Collection

Introduction

At Suffolk Latch Company, sourcing good quality products has always been at the core of our business. We are excited to be launching a new range of beautiful lighting supplied by From the Anvil.

For almost three decades From the Anvil have been supplying quality hand-made or hand finished ironmongery products to the trade. The business is still family run and is based on the outskirts of the pretty town of Llandrindod Wells, Powys in the heart of Wales.

From the Anvil launched a small lighting range in 2015 which has now developed into an exclusive collection of pendant lights, wall lights and pendant clusters. Inspired by the colours of the Welsh landscape, using high quality base materials of Brass, Copper and Steel. There is a large range of colours and finishes to choose from. All lighting products are made to order and hand finished.

Base Metals, Colours and Finishes

To achieve a high quality finish, it is imperative to start with a high quality base material. From the Anvil source fine Copper, Brass and Steel for the base and then finish each product using a range of finishing techniques to bring you an exceptional light.

With the wide range of colours and finishes available, including hammered and smooth versions you can choose a light that will complement your interior and enhance the look of your home.

‘The lighting range has developed over time and the choice of colours and finishes has evolved in line with interior design trends’ - Luke, Sales Manager - From The Anvil
Our wide variety of colours range from subtle shades of blues greens and greys, slate and soot reflecting dark and moody skies, contrasting with bright copper, brass and nickel. We have selected colours that reflect the Welsh landscape throughout it's seasonal changes. We are able to offer a mix and match style, giving you a very wide range of choice. Finishes include, nickel plating, powder coating, highly polished base copper and brass, copper plating with heat burnishing, all in either smooth or hammered. Each light is also supplied with a matching ceiling rose.

The images below feature Elan Black referencing the colours of the Elan Valley, Polished Copper and Slate which has shaped the Welsh landscape for centuries.

Designs and sizes

From the Anvil have created the lighting range from a design stance. From the angular features of the Hockley, the gentle waves and curves of the Flora, the funnel shape Frankley or the more traditional domed Brindley and Harborne, we believe the range suits a variety of spaces and design styles.

Ceiling pendant sizes range from our smallest Brindley with a 260mm diameter, through Harborne at 400mm up to Hockley at 510mm. These sizes will work well in most settings and rooms, either as an understated 'over table' light through to a 'statement piece' within a larger space.

The Brindley and Flora ceiling pendants are complemented by smaller versions of the same style and finishes by a range of wall lights and cluster pendants to allow you to achieve a cohesive design regardless of the space.

Made to Order, Hand Finished

Each light is made to your specified choice, in around 2 to 3 weeks. Rather than an 'off the shelf' product, given the range of colours, styles and finishes, it is very likely that you will be the proud owner of one of a handful of similar products. The finishing, wiring and testing is done by hand in the From the Anvil workshops, carried out by skilled craftsmen that take great pride in producing an exquisite final product. The meticulous attention to detail and genuine hand finishing techniques are clearly evident as each product is carefully packed and despatched to its new home.
